What is a UL certification, exactly? In short, it simply means that a company with a UL certification meets the requirements set by Underwriters Laboratories, or UL. UL is a safety company that certifies, validates, tests, verifies, advises and educates various industries across the country and the world. Their overall aim is to make a safer world and only companies that meet their standards can market as a UL certified company. Having a UL certification should ease any customer’s mind when choosing between prospective companies. Londono Restoration has worked very hard and diligently over the years to receive this certification. Due to this commitment, we have become a trusted name by many in the industry. Professional rewiring can be particularly important when dealing with older fixtures whose insulation, sockets, cords, or internal wiring have deteriorated over time. Heat, age, humidity, and normal use can all contribute to deterioration of electrical components.

A professional UL rewiring service can address issues such as:

• Deteriorated or damaged wiring
• Outdated sockets and electrical components
• Worn plugs, cords, and connectors
• Fixtures being converted to LED
• Antique and vintage lighting requiring careful restoration
• Chandeliers with aging internal wiring
• Decorative fixtures requiring specialized rewiring
• Lighting that needs to meet specific inspection requirements

We understand that many of these fixtures have significant aesthetic or sentimental value. Our goal is to complete the necessary electrical work while preserving as much of the original fixture as possible.

LED technology has become increasingly common in residential and commercial lighting. However, converting an older fixture to LED lighting is not always as simple as changing the bulb. Depending on the fixture, an LED conversion may require compatible sockets, wiring, drivers, connectors, or other components.

Our team provides UL LED rewiring and LED-related fixture work for lamps, chandeliers, and other decorative lighting. We can evaluate the existing fixture and help determine what type of LED configuration is appropriate.

UL Solutions notes that LED lighting products can be evaluated under UL 8750, which addresses LED equipment used in lighting products. Certified LED retrofit kits may also have specific requirements concerning the fixture they are installed in and must be installed according to their applicable instructions.
